As healthy trees reach upward toward the heavens, so also do growing disciples.
By studying Scripture and enjoying fellowship with the family of faith, the church, we “grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ.”
Studying the Scriptures is core to who we are as Lutheran Christians. There are ample opportunities for young and old to grow in their familiarity with the Bible and apply its message to their lives.
“Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,” says Hebrews, “not neglecting to meet together but encouraging one another” (Heb 10.24-25). We get together monthly for our Faith Family Gatherings and periodically throughout the Church Year—usually with food involved!
Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4.15-16)
